Sara

Senior Cattery Technician

Sara's heart beats for cats, and her love and dedication shine brightly in everything she does. With a gentle touch and a soothing presence, Sara coaxes even the shyest kitties out of their shells, helping them feel confident and cherished. A seasoned foster mom and kitten whisperer, Sara has spent years nurturing tiny balls of fluff, bottle-feeding, and caring for them until they're ready for their forever homes. Her experience and passion make her a natural fit for our Whiskers family.

As a cattery attendant in The Cottages, our newer building, Sara takes pride in maintaining a pristine environment that's as beautiful as it is comfortable for our feline friends. She's extremely dedicated to each cat in her care, putting in the time and effort to ensure every kitty's need is met, whether it's providing extra snuggles or tailoring playtime to meet their unique preferences.

Sara's expertise and compassion have made her a valued member of our team, and her contributions extend beyond her daily care of our feline friends. She's shared her knowledge and experience with our community, authoring an article on the Whiskers' Blog about working with extremely shy cats and creating a loving bond with them. Over the three years she's worked at Whiskers, Sara has demonstrated a remarkable ability to connect with cats of all personalities, and her experience is a testament to her exceptional care and dedication.

At home, Sara is accompanied by her two beloved feline companions, Shadow and newest family member, rescued kitten Leeloo. Her joy in caring for cats is contagious, and we're grateful to have her on our team.

Mekenna

Senior Cattery Technician

Mekenna's passion for felines shines brightly in her exceptional care and dedication to our whiskered guests. With a gentle touch, patient demeanor, and meticulous attention to detail, Mekenna ensures each cat receives the highest level of love, attention, and care. She takes the time to understand every cat's unique personality, preferences, and needs, tailoring her care to meet their individual requirements.

As a consummate professional, Mekenna delivers outstanding customer service with a warm smile, putting even the most anxious owners at ease. Whether it's answering questions, providing updates, or simply offering reassurance, Mekenna is always available to support our cat parents. She's currently pursuing a degree in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice at the University of North Texas in Dallas, with aspirations to work in either Criminal Profiling or the Forensic Science Field.

Mekenna's love for animals extends beyond cats, and she's actively involved with a bird sanctuary in the picturesque Texas Hill Country, where she assists with the care of wild birds. Her passion for wildlife conservation and dedication to making a difference in the lives of animals is truly inspiring.

At home, Mekenna adores her two feline companions, Candi and Codi, who bring immense joy to her life. Her love and devotion to her own cats inspire her to provide the same exceptional care and attention to every cat in her care.

Mercedes

Cattery Technician

Meet Mercedes, an experienced cattery technician at Whiskers, with a lifelong passion for animals and a special love for cats. With a background volunteering with animals and growing up with a menagerie of pets, Mercedes has developed a unique understanding of feline behavior and needs. She began pet sitting cats at a young age, honing her skills and deepening her connection felines. At home, Mercedes is adored by her two mischievous fur babies, Charlie and Meow Meow.

At Whiskers, Mercedes works her magic with cats of all personalities, quickly forming bonds with even the shyest of kitties. Her dedication to each cat in her care shines through in every aspect of her work, from providing cozy accommodations to tailoring playtime and snuggles to meet each kitty's unique preferences. Mercedes has a special gift for recognizing and meeting the needs of cats with extra special requirements, ensuring they receive above-and-beyond care and attention.

With her compassionate and meticulous approach, Mercedes brings a warm and nurturing touch to our Whiskers family. From gentle eye cleanings to soothing brush strokes, she's earned a special place in the hearts of our feline guests. Gabby

Cattery Technician

Gabby is a valued member of our team at Whiskers, serving as a cattery technician where she brings her passion for animal care to life. Currently pursuing a degree in the social sciences, Gabby is on a path that aligns with her compassion for helping others, whether they're furry or not. Her future aspirations lean toward becoming a trauma counselor, showcasing her dedication to making a difference in the lives of those around her.

Outside of Whiskers, Gabby's home is a lively haven for a diverse array of animals. She lovingly cares for six cats, four lizards, three snakes, and two hooded rats, making her a true animal lover's advocate. Her experience with Rover pet sitting has honed her skills in providing attentive and caring service, skills she now brings to Whiskers with great success.

At Whiskers, Gabby focuses her care on cats, her true love. She is wonderfully detail-oriented, ensuring that every kitty receives extraordinary attention and feels deeply loved, much like they would in their own homes. Gabby takes pride in her work, striving to create a warm and comforting environment for all feline guests. Her dedication to the kitties is evident in the loving way she interacts with them, making her an integral part of the Whiskers family.

Kayla

Cattery Technician

At Whiskers, we're lucky to have Kayla, a talented cattery technician who's all about spreading joy and love to our feline friends. Kayla shares her home with two adorable Maine Coons, Bubby and Sweeters (also known to her as Saber and Katana), who are the epitome of sweetness and social charm.

With an impressive background in socializing even the most feral felines, Kayla brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her work at Whiskers. Her volunteer work at shelters has given her a unique understanding of the needs and behaviors of shy and aggressive cats, and she's proven time and time again that with patience, love, and the right approach, even the most timid kitty can become a cuddly companion.

Kayla's warm and giving nature makes her a standout member of our team. She's always sporting a smile and a willingness to lend a helping hand, whether it's caring for our Whiskers kitties or assisting her colleagues. And when there's downtime, you can find Kayla snuggling with a kitty, giving them brushouts, treats, and playtime galore. Her dedication to providing top-notch care and attention to every cat in her care is truly inspiring, and we're so grateful to have her as part of our Whiskers family.

Nova

Cattery Technician

Nova is a compassionate and experienced cattery technician at Whiskers, with a lifelong passion for cats. Growing up on a farm surrounded by outdoor and indoor kitties, Nova developed a deep understanding of feline behavior and language from a young age. Her first job was caring for kitties at a cat's only hospital, and she's continued to work with cats in various roles, including kennel technician, front desk, and vet tech at an animal ER.

Nova is a proud parent to Nebula, a loving sphynx, and Root, an all-black kitty, and she's dedicated to providing the same meticulous love and attention to the Whiskers kitties. Her experience with TNR programs, fostering, and working with animals of all kinds has taught her the importance of compassion and patience. Nova's attention to detail is unparalleled, ensuring every cat receives top-notch care, from precise feeding schedules and medication administration to cozy accommodations and personalized playtime and snuggles.

Nova's warm and friendly demeanor makes her a joy to work with, and her excellent customer service skills are a great asset to our team. She's always willing to go the extra mile for Whiskers clients, and her positive attitude is contagious.
