Our vibrant Gouldian Finches serve as the stars of our live "Kitty TV" enrichment program, offering hours of safe, fascinating visual entertainment for our boarding cats.
Because we are dedicated to the health and genetic excellence of these spectacular birds, we occasionally have hand-raised, healthy finch babies available for adoption to loving homes.

Upcoming Aviary Babies!
We are thrilled to announce that a new clutch of beautiful Gouldian Finch babies has arrived!
Their parents are doing a wonderful job raising them, and these healthy little ones will be ready to transition to their forever homes in about three months.
While our photos of the new clutch are coming soon, please note that these fledglings are currently sporting their duller juvenile plumage. They won't develop their breathtaking, full adult colors until they reach 6 to 8 months of age.

Investment & Reservations
Price
Our Gouldians average $195 each.
(Rare color mutations, such as blue finches, may be priced higher based on availability.)
Securing Your Bird
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a baby from our upcoming clutch.
This deposit holds your chosen fledgling while they safely mature with their parents over the next three months.
Final Payment
The remaining balance is due at the time of pickup.
Flock Requirements
To ensure their social well-being, our Gouldians are not sold as single birds unless they are going to a home that already has existing Gouldian finches.
Please Note
To ensure the ultimate health and a seamless transition, fledglings will only be released to their new homes once they are fully self-sufficient and eating independently.
Care & Feeding
As with most finches, the Gouldian is a quiet bird that peeps and sings a little. They make a soft, pleasant sound that is quite soothing.
They eat a simple finch/canary food, and enjoy a spray of millet as a treat once a week or so.
Fresh water daily is a must, and they enjoy taking a little bath most days.
Though most won't breed, they do like to build a nest, and we offer them timothy hay for this fun job.
Personality
Gouldians are pleasant "watching only" birds. They don't like to be held, and can even panic and die when handled.
Stress is deadly for these little birds - but they are a joy to watch!
Breeding
Gouldians are among the most difficult finches to breed successfully because they are typically not wonderful parents. They have a tendency to abandon both eggs and babies, or even refuse to nest at all.​
How surprised we were to discover our pair are amazing parents!
